We are a publishing house specialized in Tourism and Commercial Aviation.

It’s no coincidence that, in this part of the world, there is an almost unbelievable lack of literature focused on tourism and commercial aviation.

We’ve long held that tourism is the “invisible industry”, and we know that commercial aviation, for most people — especially for generalist communicators — can often feel like what some would call “basic Chinese.”

We don’t want to be irreverent, nor do we intend to take that all-too-criticized stance of praising “the school of life” while criticizing academia. Not even close — we’re far from that.

We simply claim, with conviction, the legitimacy of empiricism, the know-how born from trial and error, and what we call "tener boliche", which in this case really means having street smarts.

Observation, memory, intellectual honesty, a genuine attempt at fairness, and absolute ideological independence are the values we uphold and declare non-negotiable.

We started out as travel agents, landing our first job at just fifteen years old, and we had the tremendous fortune of learning from what is probably the most brilliant generation of tourism professionals in Uruguay’s history.

Every time we gathered — no matter the time or place — we would share memories, stories, laughter, and emotion.

And someone would always say: “We should write a book.”

With PDA Libros, we’ve made the decision to actually write those books — preferably hybrid ones, combining text with audiovisual or, at the very least, with audio.

We have many stories to tell, reflections to offer, opinions to share, and even fantasies worth putting into words.

The door to this publishing house will always remain wide open to anyone who feels the same way. The only condition: share at least some part of our vision — but most of all, the same passion for Tourism and Commercial Aviation.
